Gillbanks is a five-piece indie rock band from Peckham in South East London. Starting life as the solo bedroom project of Sam Gillbanks the band has since evolved in pursuit of a fuller, more atmospheric, textured sound.

Sam’s first release, Lend Me Your Skin, a collection of songs inspired by the early 90s guitar sound of Pixies and Nirvana was self-recorded in Falmouth and became the catalyst for his relocation. Exploring the emotional disconnect and emptiness of early adult life, the EP; particularly the debut single ‘ Anxious?’ gained a lot of traction, attracted new audiences, press plaudits and caught the attention of Gang of Four’s Thomas Mcneice who went on to produce ‘Pillowcase’ .
